Cité Afternoon

Got up late this morning. After took a shower, I decided to hanging out this afternoon. My destination would be Cité, where I could not forget from the first glimpse at it on the night I arrived in Paris.

I took several photos before I go out, amazingly, when I was trying the  self-timer function, the pictures turned out to be black and white. However, it's still kind of pretty. (lol.)

Sous le Ciel de Paris!! When I was walking under the clear sky of Paris, my head was filled with chansons of Edith Piaf. C'est tres tres beau!!

Cité is always full of tourists from all parts of the world. Everyone is eager to see the Notre Dame: a women from Spain or Italy asked me with a strong accent, 'Excusez-moi, Notre Dame?' Did I looks like a native person? lol.

When I was doing self-timing on the bridge, a man passed by and offered me a help. He said "cheers", and I throw out a big smile. Anyhow, the beautiful weather and the lovely man makes me really happy.

On the streets there's riding polices and chic girls. In fact, unless I imaged, though popular among visitors, Cité is still a comparatively quiet place. There are cafés, bars, souvenir shops and people who are enjoying their lives everywhere.

Notre Dame is exactly the most amazing site on Cité. I really want to attend a mass (messe in French) held here. When you are facing Maria, you feel peaceful and you are willing to kneel down and pray...

Ave Maria! Please bless all people on this planet, may them away from pain and sadness...

I love the self-timer, really, you need it if you are traveling alone and like to take pictures. Paris is a gorgeous place that everywhere in Paris is so beautiful in a photo.

Study and Sunny Seine

Sunny today, feel like summer is back.

Everyday on the way attending courses, I passed by boutiques. MOSCHINO and Sonia Rykiel and so on, attract me so much!! (I like that neck lace and it's 154€!!!)

Went to school today to attend a reunion of my program. I could not understand all, coz it's all in French. But luckily I can guess and I have kind classmates translate French into English. Thank you Emily!! Anyway, I have to work hard on my French otherwise I won't survive in Paris. Girls at here are chic and elegant.

And my school have buildings rather than campus. Different buildings locate at different road, dizzy me like this stair...

Then I went to walk along La Seine. It's really charming and breathtaking especially after a little rain. Sky is incredibly blue and the clouds are funny...

The Rive Gauche (the Left Bank), known for knowledge and ration, provides interesting artifacts; they all reflects chic and funny and relaxing Parisien life.

First experience of STRIKE

Cool! I experienced a real strike on the very first day of my episode of Master. You all know in China we never have this thing; and back in Australia, I remember that there was an attempted student's strike in University of Sydney (which spoiled my trip to Melbourne!!).

The RER B is totally stopped during the strike, which means that I lost the fastest way to travel from CitéU to the downtown Paris! And because other lines goes 1 for 2 or 3 for 2, the metro got so much crowded like the Beijing Subway, which make me feel better from my homesick...

Miss Chinese Food

The title has two meanings: I miss Chinese food and I am Miss Chinese Food (coz I became the chief in Paris lol) .

I do like western food but, for the CROUS restaurant, the food is not that good... This is rice and steak from the restaurant (or dinning hall), the price is Cheap, but it really tastes terrible...

For westerners who wants to cook rice, I suggest you to choose Thai rice or Chinese rice or Japanese rice rather than Indian rice;  and put it directly in your stockpot rather than put in a package and put the package in the stockpot. You put water in the pot, and then let it boil for ten minutes or more: then delicious rice is done!

Dimanche Parisienne

Arrived at Paris last Friday. Unlike Sydney who gave me a big warm welcome, Paris say-hi to me coldly. While still hot in Pekin, Paris already have embraced her autumn. Generally, though cold in early morning and after the sunset, the day is comparatively milder than it in Pekin.

Sunny isn't the tag of Paris; for me, the sun is the signal of Rome or Barcelona. But I like this kind of sunshine in Paris: warm yet mild, shining yet tender. I went on a mini sight-seeing last Sunday (or Dimanche in French) with friends, bathing the sweet sunshine.

La Seine, the landmark of Paris, is the first stop for every visitor in Paris. With a strong smell of water, it carries cruises and stories for hundreds of years.

I've never met such a gorgeous bridge before I met the bridge of Alexander III. Breathtaking and eye-catching, sculptures on Alexander III see through the people who went over them for years. The romantic bridge leads to Louvre, one of the most amazing museums in the world; it also offers the very place for lovers who can feel as if the time is curdled...

Parisiens like bicycles (velo in French) and offers public veloes for renting. It is a fantastic way to breath the fresh air in Paris on a silver velo.

I love the baroque street lamps!

La Place de Concorde. Another landmark of Paris: you can see the Eiffel and the Triumphal Arch here.

As a cultral and historical city, Paris do not only have places to visit, it also owns lots of schools to study! I love my school, Sciences Po Paris. Though it's not big and only have several buildings, it has the most brilliant students and faculties in the world.

My favourite rouge, YSL Rouge Volupté. Back in China, I won't dare to wear red red lips like this; ut this colour fits Paris and I could not help to put the rouge on. I do not know the reasons; Parisienne ladies all love red lips. It is so beautiful especially you wear colours like black, white or grey and with dark hear colour (black hair is the best, lol). Try it! Try it! I mean it!
